The Grange is a West Sussex County Council office facility adjacent to County Hall in Chichester. The £2.8M scheme was an important part of WSCC’s office accommodation strategy which would bring about annual budget savings of £1.9M. WSCC’s strategy was to move out of 43 offices and operate from main hubs in Chichester, Horsham, Crawley, Worthing and Bognor Regis. This involved extensive thermal modelling of the office building and development of a natural ventilation scheme which ensured that the building could remain comfortable during the warmer summer months without the need for mechanical cooling. This Project was carried out over 3 Complete Floors with partial refurbishment to the Ground Floor.
The Electrical Services included: new LV 415v Switchgear, Sub Mains to new Metered Distribution Boards, Surge Protection, Connections to existing Feeder Pillar, suspended Acoustic Light Fittings, General LED lighting throughout with lighting controls and daylight dimming to minimise energy consumption, the Emergency Lighting was also linked into the Lighting Control System, general LV Power throughout, Disabled WC Alarms and Refuge System, CCTV, TV & FM Facilities, Door Access Control, Fire & Alarm Detection, Lightning Protection, full testing & commisioning of the Passivent System, Cat6 Structured Cabling Network, BMS Wiring, Mechanical Supplies and Control Wiring, Trace Heating and a fully visible, exposed containment system for all Services, in Galvanised Trunking, Tray & Conduit.
